MELISSA FIELD

Music Teacher- Piano & Theory

Melissa Field is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where she completed a Masters degree in piano accompaniment under David Miller and a Bachelor’s degree in solo piano performance under Gerard Willems.

As a child, she was invited to perform as a special guest artist in recital with renowned pianist Roger Woodward, and again for Richard Bonynge and the late Dame Joan Sutherland. In 2007, she was selected to represent the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in recital in Japan, and in 2010 became the youngest Australian to perform at the World Piano Conference in Serbia.

As an accompanist, she has been involved in numerous recitals, eisteddfods and auditions. In 2013, she was the winner of the ‘Elizabeth Todd Lieder Prize in Memory of Geoffrey Parsons’ and then in 2015, was selected to accompany several vocalists in masterclass and recital at the Estivo Chamber Music Summer School in Verona, Italy. Back at home, Melissa accompanied the National Anthem at the NSW State Premier’s Australia Day Address in 2017 for Gladys Berejiklian.

KARIN KAPSI

Music Teacher- Piano, Cello, Aural Perception and Recital Class

Miss Karin was born into a musical family in Europe, and as music was a big part of her childhood she pursued classical studies since early childhood. She studied classical cello and piano performance in Europe, attending masterclasses and performing with different chamber groups and orchestras. After touring around Australia with a youth orchestra in March 2008 she decided to study contemporary music (recording, improvising etc) at JMC Academy in Sydney under Daniel Morris. She received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston US after a masterclass with Prof. Eugene Friesen, but decided to dedicate herself to child development and early childhood music education in Australia.
Miss Karin has toured with different bands and orchestras internationally and recorded both classical and contemporary music as a session musician.
Teaching and education has always been part of her passion together with performing and recording

TREY TRAN

Academics - Maths & English, Science and ESL

Trey has a Master of Teaching degree from Western Sydney University. During his service experiences, he has developed core competencies in time management, good knowledge of national and local curriculum policies and assessment procedure. He is also competent in lesson planning, experiences with students of all abilities, creative lesson planning, learner assessment and providing constructive feedback to students.

 

He has over three-years experiences as a private tutor, years of experience in commerce as a microbiologist and substitute teacher for NSW school. Trey also has a bachelor degree in Biological Science and a Master of Business/Commerce which he obtains from the Western Sydney University. The diverse experiences and teaching records have enabled him to develop knowledge in English, Math and Science. He is keen, confident, and has a positive can-do attitude.  Dedicated, eager to teach and committed to students success.

MARY THI NGUYEN

Art Teacher- Drawing & Painting

Originally from Hanoi, Vietnam, Nguyen did her formal training at the University of Fine Arts in her home country before coming to Australia in 1983.

The mother of three, put her talent and career ambitions aside to raise her family before deciding in 2008 to complete her diplomas one and two of Fine Arts at the University of Western Sydney in Nepean and Penrith.

Only three years ago she followed that up with her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney.

She describes her body of work as a combination of collected personal experiences which have been enriched by the Australian culture, environment and her memories of home.

Mary Thi has exhibited locally and internationally and won numerous awards for her artwork such as :

  •  Solo & Group Exhibition, Rome Italy

  • Waverly Art Finalist

  • Hunters Hill Exhibition(People's choice)

  • Fairfield City Art Prize (First Prize - Traditional & Highly Commended - Contemporary)
